CDAC C-CAT or Common Admission Test is a national level entrance exam that is conducted twice a year by the Centre for the Development of Advanced Computing or CDAC. After clearing the entrance examination, the candidate will be eligible for various diploma courses. CDAC Entrance Exam Dates 2022

CDCA organizes the entrance examination twice a year one in the September cycle and one in the March cycle of six months each. The following are the important dates of the CDAC C-CAT entrance examination.

CSAC C-CAT Admission Process

The Application form of CSAC C-CAT can be filled online. The following are the steps by step application process-

  • Visit the official website of the CSAC- https://cdac.in
  • Click on the ‘New Candidate Registration’ and start filling in the required details like email ID password etc.
  • Now, verify the email by clicking on the verification link send by CSAC
  • Now, Log in to your account and click on the apply button
  • A form will appear, fill the form with correct information
  • Choose the category that you want to apply for (Category I or II or III)
  • Now upload your scanned passport size photograph
  • Now you have to upload the scanned copy of all the certificates and documents mentioned below
  • Now a payment gateway will open where you have to pay the application fee using Credit/Debit, UPI,  Banking, or challan
  • After the payment of the application fee, the candidate have to fill the three nearest examination cities where you can participate in the entrance examiantion
  • Take a print out of the payment confirmation slip and the application for future uses

Note- The candidates who are not using their own systems for giving examinations have to submit an extra fee of Rs.200/- for using the C-CAT center system for giving examinations.

CDAC C-CAT Examination Pattern

The mode of examination is MCQ-based. A total of 90 minutes will be allotted to complete the examination. For every right answer, 3 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. The following are the examination pattern of CDAC –

CDAC C-CAT 2022 Admit Card

The admit card date has been released by the CDAC and you can download your admit card from the 19th of January 2022. For downloading the admit card, you can visit the official website of CDAC and follow these steps to download your CDAC C-CAT admit card for the 2022 march session-

  • Visit the official website of CDAC and click on login button
  • Use your Form Number and Password to login to your CDAC C-CAT account
  • After logging in, navigate to the admit card tab and click on it to open the admit card page followed by clicking on the download button to download the admit card
  • Your Admit card for CDAC C-CAT is downloaded and you can view your examination details on it.
  • Take a look at your examination centre and batch timings also you’ll be alloted a date

CDAC C-CAT 2022 Exam Result

The examination result of the CDAC C-CAT will be released 4th of February 2022. You can find the CDAC C-CAT 2022 examination result from the official website of CDAC. The result is released based on the ranking system meaning you will be provided with a rank and based on the ranking you’ll be provided with the admission. the following are the step by step methods to find the ranking for the CDAC C-CAT examination result 2022-

  • Visit the official website of CDAC and navigate to the student login section or follow this link-https://www.cdac.in/index.aspx?id=studentslogin
  • Now, enter your Form no. and password to login to your account
  • After logging in, you’ll have to navigate to the Result tab and click on it
  • Now, Result page will appear where you have to enter your Entrance examination roll no, Date of birth and fill the captcha
  • After filling the details, your admit card will be downloaded in PDF format and you can open the PDF file to check your ranking

CDAC C-CAT 2022 Counseling

A counseling session will be organized for the candidates who have qualified for the entrance examination. Based on the merit list, the candidates will be offered institutes. You can choose the courses based on your liking, fees, etc. as well. The candidate must provide relevant documents in original as well as a printout to confirm his/her seat.

The counseling session will be conducted in two processes and three rounds of seat allocation and if any seat is left after the three rounds an open day will be organized where the remaining candidate can participate and block their seat for admission.

Is C-DAC a government Organisation?

C-DAC is an autonomous scientific society operated by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Its stands for Centre for Development of Advanced Computing which primarily works on developing indigenous technological advancements in the field of advanced computing, technology, software, etc.

C-DAC is known for its indigenously developed PARAM series of supercomputers which was developed in 1991 and was tested out to be the second-best supercomputer after the United States. This was a big achievement for society as during 1988, the US refused to sell their supercomputer to India citing India would use supercomputers to develop their Nuclear Program.

What is the exam date for C-DAC C-CAT 2022 December batch?

The examination for C-DAC C-CAT is organized twice a year in two different batch cycles. The first cycle of examination is held in the March batch and the course duration will be from April-September (6-months of training) and further 3 months of internship.

The second batch cycle of the year is held in August and the course duration will be from October-March (6-months of training) and further 3 months of internship.

Who are eligible candidates to apply for the C-DAC C-CAT entrance examination?

The candidates who have graduated in engineering or equivalent like 4-year BSc Engg / AMIE / DoEACC(NIELIT) B Level in IT / Computer Science / Electronics / Telecommunications / Electrical / Instrumentation

OR Should have Post Graduate Degree in Engineering Sciences with corresponding basic degree (e.g. MSc in Computer Science, IT, Electronics) can participate in the entrance examination.

What is the ranking requirement for taking admission into C-DAC Course?

The total number of seats available all over India is around 4000-5000. Therefore, the best-ranking candidates will be provided with admission into the CDAC centers. There are different levels of center and the best centers have their cut-off marks just around 1500-2000 max. You should try to score higher to get the admission into CDAC course.

How does the ranking in the CDAC centre work?

The candidates will be provided with a ranking based on the performance in section-A, section-A+B, and Section-A+B+C. Candidates who appear in the bottom 10% will not be considered for the ranking and will be considered not qualified also if the candidate has scored 0 marks or negative marks in any section, then also the candidate will not be considered for the ranking.

    The date of the form is not yet released for March 2022 batch. We will update the form release date once the CDAC examination authorities release the date. The above dates mentioned are tentative dates. You can expect the notification for the admission to be released during those dates.
    For the March cycle –> Between the last dates of December and March, you can expect the notification for CDAC C-CAT 2022 to be released.

      Yes, you can pursue the C-CAT PG Diploma course. Since you are an engineering graduate you can easily participate in the entrance examination for pursuing the C-CAT, however, there are some diploma courses where only specialized candidates can only participate, and therefore it is advised to read the article fully and opt for your specialization carefully.
