ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute which offers industrial courses to candidates seeking skill-based job courses. These courses are chosen by those candidates who wish to begin a skill-based career that is in huge demand in national as well as international industries. It is commenced by West Bengal State Council for Vocational Training which is under the state Government.
This course provides both Government and private vocational training in various engineering and non-engineering trades. Admission will be provided in two groups- Group M and Group E. For Group E admissions, the candidate must pass the Common Entrance Test (CET). For Group M admissions, a merit list is released based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. West Bengal ITI Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The candidate needs to check his/her eligibility to ensure a smooth admission process in the desired course. The eligibility criteria for West Bengal ITI admission is as follows-
- The candidate must be a citizen of India with a domicile certificate of West Bengal
- Candidates who passed the requisite entry qualification from any school located within the State of West Bengal, are eligible for admission to Govt. ITIs / ITCs/JP and Government ITIs running under PTP.
- The candidates appearing Madhyamik 2020 or equivalent examination this year from any recognized Board can also fill up online applications within seven (07) working days from the date of publication of results
- The age limit for admission is between 14 years with no upper age limit
- For Group E, the education qualification is class 8th passed from a recognized school board
- For Group M, the education qualification is Madhyamik Passed or equivalent examination from a recognized board

The application form for West Bengal ITI admission can be filled using online means. The following are the steps that the candidate must follow to register him/her for the ITI course-
- Visit the official website of the West Bengal ITI- www.wbscvt.org
- Click on the ‘New Candidate Registration’ and start filling in the required details like email ID password etc.
- Now, verify the email by clicking on the verification link sent by West Bengal ITI
- Now, Log in to your account and click on the apply button
- A form will appear, fill the form with correct information
- Now upload your scanned passport size photograph
- Now you have to upload the scanned copy of all the certificates and documents mentioned below
- Now a payment gateway will open where you have to pay the application fee using Credit/Debit, UPI, Net Banking, or challan
- Take a print out of the payment confirmation slip and the application for future uses

Admission/Selection Procedure for ITI course
For admission in the ITI courses, the institute takes direct admission based on the qualifying marks obtained in the 8th, 10th or 12th examination. Based on the marks obtained, the candidate’s merit list is prepared, and based on that candidate ranking is evaluated which is then used to provide admission. Some institutes also conduct entrance examinations for admission in the institutes.
